Education

Public pride. Global prep. Concordia leads.

It’s a simple equation: Preparation + Opportunity = Success. Factor in the demanding global environment, and the need for high quality educational solutions has never been more urgent. And while other communities struggle with “reform,” Concordia is already well ahead, producing leading educational results and providing pathways to opportunity for all, with all kinds of choices and uncompromising standards of excellence.

K-12 Education: “Blue Ribbon” excellence and multiple choices.

It’s an unusual achievement for a community to nurture just one school, much less two schools, with the requisite excellence to earn the prestigious “Blue Ribbon” designation by the U.S. Department of Education, but then Concordia Parish has never settled for the “usual” in our public education.

We’re producing benchmarks to believe in, with a system that’s attracting families from all over the region, eager to take advantage of opportunities such as our new magnet K-6 STEM school, the Concordia Academy of Math, Science and Technology, on schedule to expand one grade per year to ultimately encompass K-12.

And while achievement is a given, parents in Concordia also enjoy choice, as a new charter school opens its doors in Ferriday, and as Natchez’s high-quality private and parochial schools keep open additional options that allow families to tailor their children’s education to their needs and desires.

Higher learning for lifelong success.

Concordia puts higher learning and skills enhancement within easy reach, both economically and geographically, with three excellent institutions of higher learning right here and six within a 130-mile radius.

Here in the immediate area, choices include:

  • Central Louisiana Technical Community College—Offering workforce solutions through two-year Associate Degrees, certificates and diplomas.
  • Copiah-Lincoln Community College—Offering programs leading to two-year Associate Degrees as well as programs designed for skills acquisition.
